Wayne A. Coughlin

A Stranger in a Strange Land

Proving that there are no straight lines to anywhere, Wayne Coughlin has followed an eclectic and rambling path to screenwriting.

He was offered a job drawing for Marvel Comics in the 1970's.  He led the rock group. "Seeds of Doubt" through the 60's and 70's, and a contemporary trio, "Dreamcatcher" in the 90's.  He is an accomplished guitarist and keyboardist.  He is a songwriter - "(We Could Be) Jammin'" and "Walk with Me" are two strong examples.

He toiled for seven years on the NY Metro area stage as an Actor, Director, Producer, Set, Lighting and Sound Designer.   He has directed projects as disparate as Extremities and Jesus Christ Superstar.  He has starred in roles ranging from Henry Higgins to John Merrick (The Elephant Man - Best Actor nomination) to Artie Shaunnessy (The House of Blue Leaves).

Wayne has been interviewed by a national magazine (SCO World) on cross platform computer connectivity.  He has been a lecturer on goal alignment and the Balanced Scorecard across the US and Canada.

Behold the Man was the first script he wrote based on one of his favorite novellas.  He has written several others since - The House of Poon, 7 the Hard Way, The King of Hollywood, and The Road Back.

He is the proud Father of James and Abigail - once again proving that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.
